Eleanor Schultz died peacefully Feb. 4th at Filosa Nursing Home, Danbury, CT, 12 days shy of her 91st birthday surrounded by her loving family. Born in 1923 in Mt. Vernon, NY to Harry J. Warren & Carrie Lightbody Lansing Warren, she lived most of her life there among close extended family and lifelong friends. She married the late Alfred "Put" Schultz also of Mt. Vernon whom she fell in love with at age 13 and married at 19. He predeceased her in 1990.
Eleanor, a graduate of Mt. Vernon High School, worked in Manhattan before marrying and raising a family. She was known for her warm, loving and caring heart - and a rather irreverent sense of humor. She was a founding member, with her friends, of "Club Swazm" in Mt. Vernon.
She is survived by her three children: Al "Buddy" Schultz (Inge), New Fairfield, CT; Stuart Schultz (Monica), Pleasant Valley, NY; Carolyn Pagano (Jeffery), Hawthorne, NY; and four grandchildren: Andrew Schultz, Jacksonville, FL; Diana Schultz, Poughkeepsie, NY; and Alyson and Emily Pagano, Brooklyn, NY - who affectionately knew her as "Mimi".
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, Feb. 8, 2014 at 11am at the Green Funeral Home, 57 Main St., Danbury. Burial will follow in Kensico Cemetery, Valhalla, NY. Friends will be received on Friday from 5pm to 8pm at the funeral home.
The family extends their deep gratitude to the loving and compassionate staff at Filosa. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Regional Hospice and Home Care of Western Connecticut, 39 Old Ridgebury Rd., Danbury, CT 06810 (www.regionalhospicect.org), or to the American Heart Association, 5 Brookside Dr., Wallingford, CT 06492.
