

She was born in Macomb, Illinois on February 6, 1926 to Ruth Bennett Hall and George F. Hall.
She graduated from Colchester, Illinois high school and attended Central Christian University in Indianapolis.
After a whirlwind courtship post-World War II, Elinor married Francis J. Pennarola and they made their home in Danbury.
She worked as a clerk typist for the State of CT in various agencies, but Elinor’s most important job was raising her children. She treated them as individuals as well as a family unit and to this day they remain bonded in her honor.
She is survived by her children, Linda Mulvihill, Lisa LaCava (Richard), Francis G. (Maureen), Gary (Nancy), and son-in-law, Carl Cyr.
She is also survived by her 12 grandchildren: Danielle, David, Adam, Brian, Nora, Henry, Nicole, Ryan, Logan, Nancy, Marita, and Daniel, as well as 13 great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her daughter, Elaine Cyr; her brother, Marion Hall; and her sister, Dena Goins.
The family extends thanks and appreciation to the staff at Havencare at Hancock Hall for their kindness and excellent care.
A Graveside Service will be conducted at 2:00pm on Thursday, October 16, 2025, at St. Peter Cemetery (section 10), 71 Lake Ave. Ext., Danbury, CT with the Rev. Gregg Mecca, Pastor of St. Peter Church, Danbury, officiating.
