Elna Marie Krapowicz

February 21, 1936August 10, 2013

Elna Marie Krapowicz (Tarbox) 77 of Ridgefield Ct. was called home on August 10th 2013.

Our loving angel, wife, mother, grandmother and friend will be joining her biological Mother and Father, Mildred Tower and Leslie Tarbox and brother Roderick of North Reading Mass, her stepfather Eugene Tower, and her late Husband of 35 years, Jacob Anthony Krapowicz of New Caanan CT.

Survived by her brother, Leslie, and children, Jennifer West, LeeAnne Homsey and Jon Krapowicz and loving grandchildren, Pixel Jane West and Nastasia West, Elna (Ele) will forever be the light and goodness within our family and life inside of us personally. Ele’s deep, unending love and compassion gave so much to so many in every possible way. From love she cooked into every forkful for her family, friends and new restaurant customers to love a friend in despair could expect from her sage advice during lengthy sessions of uninterrupted listening or the love a bride felt when her budget said “Fair enough” but mom gave her “Fairy Tale” to the love a complete stranger received walking on the side of the road at 1am.

Ele Tarbox was only here for 77 short years but during that time she quietly, gently, lovingly changed the world without ever knowing it. With her perseverance and deep humility the little girl who was sent to care for the elderly grew to be the magnificent women who cared for life she touched and took every “can’t” and created a meal, a business or a baby instead.

Services for the once model, mother, grandmother, friend, wife, successful woman owned business partner and angel will be Saturday, August 17th at Green Funeral Home, 57 Main St. Danbury, CT, with calling hours 1pm-3pm and service to follow at 3pm.

A private burial will be held at a time and place to be determined. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in Elna’s memory can be made to the Women’s Business Development Center

Ele, your mom, was the most wonderful, selfless person i have ever known. I know i will never find another like her. She, along with your dad, Jake, were like my second mom and dad growing up. I loved them both. I will always miss them. God bless Ele in her journey.

I met Ele at the gym in 2005 and I knew immediately that she was a most kind and special woman. We would chat several times a week and I came to know about her life and responsibilities and how graciously she attended to everything and everyone. I was missing seeing her at the front desk these past weeks and then months, and was so looking forward to her return ... walking into the gym will never feel the same again.

I will never forget the look on Ele's face, the time that Jennifer took her first step at our home in Bethel. How I miss those days. Your Mom & Dad were there at our home a lot, thank God. Such a beautiful person in looks and heart. Rest In Peace, my sweet, sweet Friend. I love You. contact me

I will always remember Aunt Ele and all the Christmas & Easter celebrations spent at Grandma's. She always had a smile on her face, a warm hug for all, sweet words to say and always, good food to eat. A gentle and caring person who truly gave of herself to everyone. Even though life & distance keeps families apart, our occasional phone conversations were warm, friendly and lengthy as she updated me with what was going on with Grandma, the kids & grandkids. I'll miss the sweet sound of her soothing voice and will always remember Aunt Ele, as a beautiful, strong, loving and caring woman, and now she is truly an Angel.

I'll always remember your Mom and Dad coming to our aid when my father lost his temper. They saved us many times. And all the long drives to Croton on the Hudson bringing your Dad's paintings around to galleries. I would ride in the car and watch Jennifer while Ele went inside. She was a dear sweet friend. I will always love her. Debbie Rondeau
