Emily was born in Yonkers, NY October 15, 1923, the daughter of the late Frank and Julia (Pohvona) Stanek. She had spent her early years in Yonkers, and following her marriage to Vito Cifichiello, moved to Long Island, where they lived early in their marriage. They later moved back to Yonkers, and relocated to Danbury in the late 1990’s, residing there for 21 years.
Emily was employed as a secretary, working for many years at Saint Margaret School in Riverdale, NY, until the time of her retirement. While living in Danbury, she was a parishioner of Saint Gregory the Great Church.
Emily is survived by her daughter Chryssa D. Walsh of Danbury, and her son Jeffrey Cifichiello and his wife Caroline of Suffern, NY along with her five grandchildren Eric, Jeffrey, Jenny, Tom, and Rebecca, one great grandson, and several nieces and nephews. Emily was predeceased by her three sisters.
There are no calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30am on Monday November 5th in Saint Gregory the Great Church, Great Plain Road, Danbury. Burial will be in the Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Hawthorne, New York.
