Emma Escobar 87, formerly of Danbury, CT for 46 years, passed away Sunday, September 16, 2018 at her home for the past 5 years, in Lake Mary, FL surrounded by her family. She was the wife of the late Jose Manuel Escobar.
Emma was born in Madrid, Colombia to the late Bernarda and Ruperto Sanchez Susatama. She worked for 20 years at Fairfield Processing and dedicated her time in helping with the building of Our Lady of Guadalupe Church for the Spanish community in Danbury and surrounding towns.
Survivors include her five children: Guillermo Escobar of Danbury, Carmen Torres of Danbury, Alfredo Escobar of Danbury, Stella Bracho of Lake Mary, FL and Fanny Salguero of Casselberry, FL. Her sisters: Rita Uribe and Maria Garnica and her brother Ruperto Susatama, all of Columbia. Nine grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews also survive.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am on Thursday, September 27, 2018 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, Danbury. Burial will follow in St. Peter Cemetery, Danbury.
Friends will be received from 5 pm-8 pm on Wednesday, September 26, 2018 at the Green Funeral Home, 57 Main St., Danbury.
