Ernest W. Martucci, 84, of New Fairfield, CT, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 12, 2019 with his family by his side. Ernie was born on May 24, 1934 in the Bronx, NY and was the son of the late Ernest and Angelina Martucci (nee DeRosa).
Ernie was a psychologist for over 35 years in the White Plains, NY public school district before retiring. He also served as a Councilman on the Town Board of Yorktown, NY from 1977 through 1985. He graduated from Stuyvesant High School and was a 1956 graduate from City College New York. Ernie is a veteran of the US Army Reserves and was a member of the Pershing Rifles military fraternity.
Ernie is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Barbara, his four children: Gregory (Cathleen), Brian (Elizabeth), Carolyn (Lloyd), and Raymond (Erin) and his 9 grandchildren: Nicholas, Alexa, Corinne, Allison, Patrick, Kayla, Matthew, Mallory and Tegan.
He was pre-deceased by his sister Christine Rizzuto.
Ernie was an avid golfer and enjoyed playing cards with friends at the Christopher Columbus Social Club in Yorktown, NY where he lived for over 30 years before retiring and moving to Oro Valley, AZ in 1997 where he was part of the Sun City retirement community. He spent his final years closer to his family, moving to New Fairfield, CT in 2015.
Relatives and friends are invited to join his family during calling hours from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Friday, January 18 at Green Funeral Home, 57 Main Street, Danbury, CT.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, January 19 at 11:00 am at St. Edward the Confessor Church, 21 Brush Hill Rd., New Fairfield, CT.
