Francis Main

He was born on June 29, 1937, in Danbury CT. Fran was a snare drummer for the Grassy Plain Drum Corps. of Bethel CT. He famously scored 77.55 in the junior snare individuals competition at the American Legion National Drum Corps Championships. He proudly earned several metals for his drumming. He also served for a short time in the Army National Guard.

Fran was the Manager Superintendent of the 2nd and 3rd shift for many years at the Risdon Manufacturing Company in Danbury. Upon retiring he loved working around the house. He also loved traveling to the beach. He enjoyed movies, wrestling and game shows.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by three daughters: Donna Main of FL; Doreen Finkle and her husband, Kevin, of MN; and Tanya Roof and her husband, Brian of CT; a step-daughter, Sandy Rebo, and her husband, Joe, of CT; his grandchildren: Ryan Finkle, Rachel (Finkle) Jordan, Alex Roof, Evan Roof and Erika Roof: and two great grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his son, Francis A. Main.

Friends will be received from 11:00am - 12:00pm on Monday, June 29, 2026, at the Green Funeral Home, 57 Main St., Danbury, CT.

A funeral service will be conducted at 12:00pm on Monday, June 29, 2026, at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Wooster Cemetery, 20 Ellsworth Ave., Danbury.
