

Frank was born in New York City, son of the late Frank and Loretta Fehling, brother of the late Conrad and John Fehling He attended school in Queens, NY and served in the United Sates Air Force. He worked as a firefighter in the New York City Fire Department (Rescue Co. 1), retiring in 1979. Throughout the years Frank was an active member in good standing in the following organizations: Veterans of Foreign Wars, Danbury Madhatters Barbershop Quartet, Knights of Columbus, and the New Fairfield Gun Club. He was an active member in scouting New Fairfield Troop #42 as a troop leader for numerous years and was awarded the Silver Beaver Award, the highest award in Scouting. He was a dedicated family man, good friend, and a mentor to many. He was a longtime member of St. Edward the Confessor Church.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his sons, Frank J. Fehling, III and Paul S. Fehling and wife Lisa both of New Fairfield and his daughter Karen Stavac and husband Chris of Milford, NJ, and his grandchildren Crystal, Frank, Paul, Lauren, Christopher, Victoria, Matthew and Luke.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Edward the Confessor Church, on Monday morning at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Mountain View Cemetery, New Fairfield. Friends may call at the Green Funeral Home, 57 Main St., Danbury, on Saturday from 3 to 6 pm and Sunday from 2-5 pm.
