

He was born in New York City on May 20, 1928, son of the late Frank A. and Beatrice (McClusky) Peterson. He grew up in Danbury, was a Korean War veteran and was a Bricklayer and Business Agent for Local 22. After retiring, he worked with his son Joe in his landscaping business. He was an avid runner and swimmer. He ran in several marathons including the New York City marathon in 1978. He was a member of St. Peter’s Church.
He’s survived by his children: Debbie De Rosa and her husband Don, Frank J. Peterson, Jr. and his wife Cindy, Joseph Peterson and his wife Susie all of Danbury, and Virginia Falls and her husband Russell of Pennsylvania; his grandchildren, Alissa Rush, Michael (Eleice) De Rosa, and Christina Gillotti, LCpl Ryan Peterson, USMC and Justin Peterson, Nicole (David) Tavares, Amanda (Paul) Brown, and Tara Falls, Joseph, Stephanie and Michael Peterson; 13 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wife, he was predeceased by his 3 brothers, Bernard, Terrance and Donald.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Peter Church, Tuesday at 10:30am with the Rev. Gregg Mecca, Pastor, officiating. Cremation will take place at the direction of the family.
