Born in Danbury on October 27, 1936, he was the youngest beloved son of Frank Charles Ross Sr. and Mary Stavola Ross, and he remained a proud and devoted member of the Danbury community throughout his entire life.
Frank grew up attending St. Joseph School and graduated from Danbury High School in 1954. He went on to serve his country with honor through active duty in the United States Army. His sense of duty and loyalty continued long after his time in uniform.
For many years, Frank worked for the City of Danbury as a Water Treatment Plant Operator. He earned a Class 4 certification from the State of Connecticut and took great pride in the work he did for his hometown. Frank was also a longtime member of the American Legion and the Catholic War Veterans, finding fellowship and purpose among those who had shared similar journeys.
Above all, Frank was a devoted father, grandfather and friend. He cherished every moment spent with his family and friends and held a deep and abiding love for the people closest to him. His gentle heart, quiet humor, steadfast presence and dedicated faith will be remembered by all who had the gift of knowing him.
Frank was predeceased by his parents and by his brothers Joseph, John, and Mickey, as well as his sisters Florence Ross, Cecelia Colombatto, Rita Finaldi, and Rose Marie Ross. Their memories were always close to his heart.
He leaves behind his daughter Karen Giesen and her husband Raymond of Coopersburg, Pennsylvania, his daughter Maryann Ross of Fort Lee, New Jersey, and his son Frank Charles Ross III and his wife Rebecca of Danbury. He will be lovingly remembered by his granddaughters Amanda Hein, Katriel Bush, and Serenity Cray, as well as by many nieces, nephews, cousins and other family members who held him in high affection.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, December 16, 2025 at 10:00am at St. Joseph Church in Danbury. Frank will be laid to rest at St. Peter Cemetery, 71 Lake Ave. Ext., Danbury.
In keeping with his generous spirit and true love for animals, contributions in his memory may be made to D.A.W.S. in Bethel, Connecticut, or to St. Joseph Parish in Danbury, two charities he cared for deeply.
Frank’s family invites all who knew him to join in remembering a life lived with loyalty, kindness, and quiet strength.
