Gregory A. Willmott

Gregory A. Willmott, age 54 of Bethel, CT passed away suddenly on Monday, October 3, 2016. He is survived by his beloved family, wife Melissa, sons Gregory and Matthew, parents Earl and Marie Willmott and sister Jacki and husband Rod Johnson, along with many nieces, nephews and extended family. Greg was a loving father, husband, son, uncle, coach and friend to all.

Greg was born and raised in Norwalk, CT. He graduated from Central Catholic High School and Johnson & Wales University. Greg earned a bachelor’s degree at Johnson & Wales University. He was a culinary chef for many years before transitioning into food sales which he has worked in for over 20 years. Most recently he was a sales associate at Sysco Connecticut Corporation.

Greg was a passionate outdoors man. However, his favorite job was just being a father to his two sons. Greg cherished and looked forward to each and every moment with his family and friends. He especially loved coaching his son's baseball, soccer and basketball teams, which brought him endless amounts of joy and happiness. Greg was a humble, kind and loyal man who was always there to lend a helping hand no matter what the circumstances. His generosity and kindness was felt by everyone around him. Greg had an indescribable effect on many lives. His laughter was contagious, and his heart of gold was truly one in a million. Greg was an exceptional husband, son, father and friend and will be dearly missed.

Calling hours will be held at Green Funeral Home, 57 Main Street, Danbury, CT, on Sunday, October 9th from 4:00pm to 7:00pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Mary Church, 26 Dodgingtown Rd, Bethel, CT on Monday, October 10th at 10:00am. Greg will be laid to rest at St. Mary Cemetery following the Mass. Funeral reception to follow at Black Angus Grill, 5 Eagle Rd, Danbury, CT.
