Harold was born on September 22, 1930 to the late Oliver and Mary Elwell Starr. He attended Danbury schools and was a 1948 graduate of Danbury High School, where he played football. He would be later recognized by the Danbury Old Timers Athletic Association for his success in athletics while at Danbury High School.
An Air Force veteran, Harold was stationed at Samson Air Force Base located at Lake Seneca, New York.
A longtime employee of the US Postal Service, Harold retired in 2005.
Besides his wife, survivors include his sister-in-law, Natalie R. Covey of Bethel, CT.
A private graveside service will be conducted at Wooster Cemetery, Danbury, CT at the convenience of the family.
