
Helen Smith Call, 78, passed away Sunday March 21, 2021 at Regional Hospice of Danbury after a period of declining health. Helen was born in Bridgeport Hospital on February 15, 1943 to Edward and Alice (Frimpter) Smith, and raised in Westport CT, before spending the last 56 years in Danbury.
Helen enjoyed a long career in the automotive industry, working for several Danbury dealerships as the DMV clerk/Biller. She worked full time right up until a hospitalization took her out of the workforce in 2018.
Helen is survived by her daughter, Melody Plummer, son-in-law Ron and grandson Emerson of Ridgefield CT. She was predeceased November 26, 2020, by her daughter Jennifer Call. She is also survived by her sister Joan Kokoska and husband John of PA and by her brother Edward Smith and companion Jacqueline of Maine. She was predeceased by her sister Pat, also of Maine. Helen is also survived by several nieces, nephews, aunts, cousins and friends, including lifelong friend Charlie Call.
There will be no calling hours. A graveside service will be held later this Spring at Wooster Cemetery in Danbury.
