Ida was born in New Rochelle, NY on August 24, 1927; the daughter of the late Benjamin Tranquillo and Anastasia Mercurio. She lived in NY before she began on her journey of travelling the world. Ida was always very unique and a special woman; she knew she wanted to travel and create her own beautiful experiences. She saw many countries, learned multiple languages, and created artwork and paintings from her destinations.
During her travels, Ida met her soulmate Nicholas on the beautiful island of Capri, Italy in 1965. Nicholas immediately fell in love and knew Ida was the woman he would spend his life with. They were married in Bremen, Germany on the Nov. 15, 1965 at the their family restaurant "Belgrade". After moving to Mamaroneck, NY in 1966 they started their family. Ida and Nicholas have two daughters, Alexandra and Stacy. Ida was the most amazing and caring mother who loved being with her husband and children.
Aside from being a wonderful mother and wife, she was an amazing artist who continued her work until just a few years ago. She taught her granddaughter how to paint and create beautiful artwork; some of their best memories together were spent in Ida’s art classes. She also worked at Pepperidge Farms until she retired where she created many relationships and spread her beautiful personality to others.
Ida is pre-deceased by her parents; her sister, Anastasia; her brother, Thomas; her nieces, Toni-Ann and June.
