

Isabella Marcella Zurinskas died peacefully on May 1, 2012 at St. Francis Hospital in Hartford, CT. Isabella celebrated her 100th birthday on January 1 , 2012 with family and friends. The last two years of her life she was a resident at Apple Rehab in Avon. She resided in Danbury most of her life and was born in Methuen, MA as Isabella M. Jedneck.
Isabella was the widow of Frank Zurinskas who died in 1988. She was predeceased by her sons Ronald 1960 and Robert 2010. Isabella Zurinskas grew up during World War I and II and she lived through the Great Depression, the National Recovery Act, the repeal of Prohibition, woman voting rights and the golden age of the big bands . Married in 1934, she celebrated her 50th wedding anniversary on May 27, 1984 with her beloved Frank.
Isabella Zurinskas retired from American Cyanamid Co. in Danbury in 1974 as a Line Specialist Quality Control Supervisor. She was a member St. Joseph parish. Isabella played golf at Richter Park and was known as a great putter. She will be remembered for her Christmas cookies and holiday treats. She was a Boston Red Sox fan and liked the Giant’s Football team and was always up for a game of cribbage. Isabella will be remembered as a loving mother, and grandmother who cared for her family and celebrated with pride the successes of her children, Grand children and great grand children. She loved mathematics and always asked about her great grand children studies. She enjoyed watching the TV Catholic Mass every day. She always said “The Lord has been good to me.”
She is survived by her son Reginald and his wife Jane who live in Simsbury; five grandchildren, Ronald Zurinskas and wife Natalie of Charlotte, NC, Lauren and husband Dan Rosenfeld of Avon, Leslie and husband Todd Mather of Avon, Todd Zurinskas and wife Martine of Atlanta, GA, Chad Zurinskas and wife Wendy of Salt Lake City, Utah and nine great grandchildren ages 1 Through 10.
Funeral services will be held Friday May 4th at Green Funeral Home. Calling hours are from 9-10 a.m. The celebration of Christian burial at 10:30 a.m. St. Joseph Church in Danbury.
