Obituary of Jacqueline E. Hernandez

Green Funeral Home

Jacqueline Evans Hernandez, age 51, of Danbury, Connecticut, passed away on Wednesday, January 19, 2022. Jacqueline was born to William and Charlene Evans on September 17, 1970, in Danbury, CT. Jacqueline (known to most as Jackie) was most recently an Associate Executive Director at Maplewood of Stony Hill. She started her career there as a part-time employee in the Activities Department and climbed her way up the ladder into a management position. Jackie had a lifelong passion for helping people: prior to her employment at Maplewood, where she connected with the elderly, she worked as a paraprofessional for 12 years for the New Fairfield School District. Wherever she worked, she was known for her work ethic and was very proud of her occupational accomplishments. However, if you asked her what she felt was her most important job, she would say it was to be the best mother for her children. Jackie impacted the lives of so many people in her 51 years. She always gave 100% to anything that was thrown her way, whether completing a task at work, becoming a mother at a young age, or just being a friend to someone in need. Jackie loved breakfast dates followed by scratch off lottery tickets with her mother, vacations to the beach with her husband, some Hunka Chunka Peanut Butter Fudge Ice Cream from Friendly’s, frogs, frog pajamas, frog statues, or anything else frog-related, and -- more than anything else -- doing anything she could to help others. This love she showed those around her is an eternal legacy. Jackie will be dearly missed by many. Jackie is survived by her parents; her loving husband Jose ‘Oscar’ Hernandez; her 3 children, Michael Germann, Lauren and her husband Nicholas Hudimatch and Robert Germann and his wife Francis and 2 stepchildren, Max and Daniela Hernandez; her 2 brothers, William and Christopher Evans; her grandmother Katherine Main, mother in law Maria Hernandez, many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and in-laws; all of whom she loved dearly. Jackie was also eagerly awaiting the arrival of her first grandchild, William Charles Hudimatch, who is to be born to Jackie’s daughter Lauren and son-in-law Nick in May of this year. Jackie's family would like for all friends and family who are visiting to please wear a mask and adhere to social distancing protocols.
