James T. Trezza

James was born in Brooklyn, NY, to James V.A. and Teresa Trezza on June 11, 1945. He attended Regis High School in New York City. He later earned both a bachelor’s and master’s degree from Western Connecticut State University. He married Kathleen Oerzen on June 17, 1966, in Queens Village, NY and they had two children together, Kristen and Jaime. James married Elaine Cullen on March 27, 1999, in Brewster, NY.

James was a dedicated high school English teacher for the Carmel Central School District for 30 years. His creativity in the classroom was appreciated by his students. He provided music, plays, and even computers when they were still a thing of the future. He started the chess club and had a traveling team with other schools.

James had many passions, with music being his greatest. He was a member of several bands in which he was the lead singer and guitarist. Football and golf were also a big hit with him. He never gave up on the Jets and Cardinals!!!

He loved being retired and spending time in Arizona for a few months in the winter.

James is preceded in death by Kathleen and Jaime Trezza.

James is survived by his wife, Elaine, daughter Kristen, grandsons Christopher and Matthew Jablonka, and stepchildren Kevin Cullen and Dana Cullen Valentino.

Funeral services will be held from 4-7 pm on Friday, April 21, 2023, at Green Funeral Home, 57 Main St, Danbury, CT. A private burial will be held Saturday, April 22, 2023, at Wooster Cemetery, 20 Ellsworth Avenue in Danbury.

Memorials may be given to the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
