Jane Mahoney Nobes

Jane Mahoney Nobes, 90 years old, of Danbury, CT died February 9th in Alpharetta, GA. Jane was born on June 8th, 1931 to Elizabeth Brennan Mahoney and Charles Mahoney in Danbury, CT. She was the youngest of six children.

She graduated from Danbury High School. Jane worked at Danbury Hospital for over 35 years.

Mrs. Nobes was a very active volunteer at St. Peter Church and School in Danbury and St. Elizabeth Seton Church in Ridgefield. She was a Girl Scout leader and member of the Danbury Garden Club. She enjoyed gardening, flower arranging, and cake decorating.

Jane is survived by five of her children, four of her sons-in-law, and her daughter-in-law: Jane Brennan (Edward); Mary Beth O’Brien; Jim Boyle; Sharon von Gal (Tim); Susan Penn (Jeffrey); and Timothy Nobes (Linda). She is also survived by her thirteen grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Jane is predeceased by her husband, Raymond; daughter, Barbara; granddaughter, Moira Boyle; son-in-law, Christopher O’Brien; brother, Charles Mahoney; and sisters: Mary Mullaney, Catherine Kane, Annette Knee, and Alice Ryan.

A memorial service Mass will be held in the spring.
