Jason Matthew Rapp, of Danbury, Connecticut, passed away September 29, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born on July 18, 1973, Jason was a graduate of Danbury High School, Class of 1992, and was deeply rooted in his community and family legacy.
Jason devoted many years to working for Sydney A. Rapp Land Surveying, the family business spanning four generations, where he was respected for his work and integrity.
Jason’s memory and love live on in his wife and soulmate, Angela Rapp, his daughter Kayla and son Matthew, and his parents, Sydney A. Rapp Jr. (the late Carol Rapp) and Susan O’Hara (Richard O’Hara). He is also survived by his sister Jessica (Rapp) Breich (Gabriel Breich), brothers Zachary and Toby (Hollie Rapp), niece Carolina Breich, nephew William Breich, and his extended family, including Chris Sinatra (Deirdre), Mike Sinatra (Roberta), and Sharon Johnson (Gerald Johnson).
A passionate fan of the New York Giants and New York Mets, Jason found joy in watching sports even when his teams didn’t deliver wins. The next time the Mets win the World Series, his family will celebrate like it’s 1986! He also enjoyed playing golf since learning how to play as a child.
The Outer Banks of North Carolina held a special place in Jason’s heart. From childhood through adulthood, it was a cherished place for watching sunrises, eating local foods, and four-wheeling in his Jeep on the deserted beaches. Jason and Angela were married in February of 1999, overlooking the ocean in Duck, North Carolina at the house Jason grew up vacationing at.
He treasured moments spent with family and friends and enjoyed a good party, whether it was just him and Angela or family gatherings at his dad’s house. Jason’s strength, kindness, and loyalty will be remembered. He leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and strong family bonds. All who knew him will forever hold his memory close.
A celebration of life for Jason will be held Saturday, October 4, 2025, from 1pm – 3pm at Green Funeral Home, 57 Main St., Danbury.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jason's memory to Regional Hospice of Danbury, CT or the American Cancer Society.
