Jeanne Byrne Bruestle

JEANNE BYRNE BRUESTLE (“Jen”, “Jeannie”, “Byrne”), age 65, died peacefully on December 25, 2016 after a two year battle with cancer. Jeanne was born June 11, 1951 in Easton, CT, the daughter of the late Anne and James Byrne. She attended Catholic school at Our Lady of the Assumption in Fairfield, CT and Joel Barlow High School in Redding, CT. She cultivated friendships in the early days of her youth that lasted her whole lifetime. Her loyal friends remained a steadfast source of happiness all the days of her life. Jeanne received a Bachelor’s of Science in Education from Mount Saint Mary College in New Hampshire in 1973 and a Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing From Western Connecticut State University in 1982, graduating with honors. Jeanne’s life work as a Registered Nurse spanned for over 30 years at Danbury Hospital. She took great pride in her nursing career, her friends and her family, especially her grandchildren. Her sense of humor was perhaps her greatest characteristic, as she loved to make people laugh. Jeanne devoted her life to helping others in any way she could. This devotion was paid back tenfold by the tender mercy and care she received from the Nuns at Rosary Hill Home. She lived out her final days in peace, her spiritual life flourished and her loved ones got to come for the ride. In 1993, Jeanne met and married the love of her life David J. Bruestle. Over the course of

their 23 year marriage, they raised six children, enjoyed traveling and frequent trips to the theater in New York City. They renewed their vows this year after David converted to Catholicism. In addition to her husband, Jeanne is survived by her four children; Eileen Dineen, Erin Oveissi, Maegan Pratt and Kyle Pratt; two step-daughters Jennifer Bambach and Elizabeth Bruestle; six grandchildren and two dogs. Funeral Home, 57 Main St., Danbury, CT 06810, from 5-8 p.m.. A memorial Mass will be on Saturday, December 31, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. at The Sacred Heart Church, 30 Church St., Redding, CT 06896.
