

Jennie (Macaluso) (Carrizzo) Staniscia, beloved mother of Ronald and Deborah Carrizzo and the late Jane (Carrizzo) Culhane, went to be with her Savior, Jesus Christ, on April 16, 2014 at Pope John Paul II Center. Jennie will be greatly missed by her loving family.
Jennie was born in the Bronx, New York to Joseph and Rachel (Palladino) Macaluso. She came from a large family of nine loving brothers and sisters. She worked at various local businesses in Bethel and Danbury. She was a brilliant woman who graduated high school at sixteen and was immediately hired as a legal secretary to a New York law firm. She received a scholarship to attend college but could not attend due to the Great Depression.
Her survivors include her grandchildren, Drew Culhane, Jason and Holly, Jonathan and Tia, Scott and Shannon and Susan Carrizzo. She is also survived by her great grandchildren, Emily, Elizabeth, Ellie, Lucas and Chloe Carrizzo. In addition she is survived by her only sibling Mary, and many nieces and nephews. Her generosity and selflessness will be greatly missed by her family. She leaves a legacy of love, dignity, and brilliance that is mirrored in her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will live in our hearts and minds forever.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00am on Tuesday, April 22, at St. Mary Church, Bethel. Interment will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery, Bethel. Family and friends may call at the Green Funeral Home, 57 Main Street Danbury on Monday April 21, from 6:00pm to 8:00pm.
