OBITUARY

Jimetta A. Corona Abramo

January 13, 1945January 6, 2012

Jimetta (Jet) Corona Abramo, 66, of Danbury, CT, died unexpectedly Friday, Jan 6th at Danbury Hospital. Born in Danbury on Jan. 13, 1945, she was a daughter of the late James V. and Helen A. Bingel Corona. A lifelong Danbury resident, in her early years she worked at the former Marcus Dairy Bar before becoming a homemaker. She was a devout Catholic and her grandchildren were the love of her life. Jimetta was a colorful and fun loving character with a childlike sense of humor, and never politically correct. Anyone who came in contact with her left with a smile and a heart full of joy. Her favorite pastime was Bingo and instant lottery. Jimetta had nothing but gave it all, she had a very special way of getting whatever she wanted from whoever she wanted; in other words, she got the job done, somehow, some way. Jimetta was all God intended her to be, had her life situation been different, she would have been the greatest CEO, in spite of her limited education. She will sadly be missed by her family and many friends.

Survivors include her beloved daughters: Sherry LeBlanc, and her husband, Daniel, of Danbury and Amy Marie McGrath of Clayton, NC. Her loving grandchildren: Jack, Benjamin and Daniel LeBlanc of Danbury. Her sister: Janice Starr of Danbury. Her brothers: James D. Corona of Homosassa, FL and Richard Corona of Stratford, CT. Nine nieces and nephews, 13 great nieces and nephews and 1 great great-nephew also survive. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by a brother, Joseph D. Corona. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff at Pope John Paul II Rehab and Nursing Center, where Jimetta lived out the last two years of her life.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 10:30am at St. Peter Church, Danbury with the Rev. Gregg Mecca, Pastor, officiating. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Friends will be received on Tuesday from 5pm to 8pm at the Green Funeral Home, 57 Main St., Danbury.

Contributions in her memory may be made to the Danbury Hospital Mental Health Clinic, 24 Hospital Ave., Danbury, CT 06810.

Jimetta was the highlight of my day. I took care of her at PJP well actually she took care of me her contagious smile and laugh made any day a great day. I will miss our daily chats. To her family she loved and spoke of all of you daily. She was so proud of her daughters but glowed from ear to ear when she spoke of her grandchildren. She is deeply missed by all her friends at PJP may god bless and many prayers sent to your family.
