

Joan M Mohr of New Fairfield passed away on Saturday November 8, 2014 in her home. Joan Mohr was born in the Bronx, New York, the daughter of Frank J. and Evelyn T. Mohr. A registered nurse she served in hospitals in New York, California and Connecticut before becoming a Professor of Nursing at Fairfield University in Fairfield Connecticut where she taught for 25 years. A resident of New Fairfield for 47 years, she was a faithful member of St. Edward the Confessor Church.
Joan touched the lives of many people. As a nurse and a teacher she was beloved and was very proud of her ability to reach both patients and students. She was known for both her generosity and her very practical ability to handle any issue that came her way. Many people benefited from her kindness and thoughtfulness. In addition to her love of nursing and teaching she had a passion for nature and gardening and a great love for her cats.
She is survived by her brother Raymond of Manchester Vermont and her sister, Sister Margaret Mary Mohr of Lawrence Massachusetts as well as beloved sisters -in-law, Eileen, Pat and Nina, nine nieces and nephews and many grand nieces and nephews. She also leaves many good friends who will miss her wisdom and love.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held at St, Edward the Confessor Church, 21 Brush Hill Rd, New Fairfield, CT. on November 22 at 10:30 am. Interment will follow at Mountain View Cemetery, New Fairfield.
