The son of the late Daciano and Emilia Gaspar, he immigrated to the U.S. in April of 1995. He was an employee at Western Connecticut State University. He was an avid Sporting fan and loved watching soccer. He loved spending time with his family and friends. Joaquim was predeceased by his sister, Nascimento Gaspar.
In addition to his wife of 37 years, survivors include his daughter, Claudia DeMoura and husband, Bruno DeMoura. His son, Jack Gaspar and his companion Sydney Coelho. His grandchildren: Mason, Lucas and Malia. His brother Jose Gaspar and two sisters Emilia Albuquerque and Maria do Carmo Almeida. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Private funeral services will be held at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Danbury with the Rev. Jose Brito-Martins, Pastor, officiating.
