
John was born in White Plains, NY, son of the late Costantino and Olivetta Ferrante. He graduated from high school in Eastchester, NY, served in the U.S. Army, during the Korean War and had worked as a U.S. postal worker until his retirement in 1987. He also worked for Buy George Hardware and New England Uniform Company. He was an avid NY Yankees and Giants fan and had served as a coach for the Eastchester Blue Devils Pop Warner Football Team for 20 years and was a lifetime member of the Eastchester Italian American Citizens Club.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughters: Donna Kelly and husband Raymond, Deborah Solomon and husband David and Lisa Glaser and husband Donald, four grandchildren: Matthew and Jennifer Solomon and Lindsay and Megan Glaser, his brother Peter B. Ferrante, of New Paltz, NY, sister-in-law Marilyn Iglehart of Yorktown Heights, NY and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers Sandy and Anthony Ferrante.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Edward the Confessor Church, New Fairfield, on Friday at 1:00 p.m.. Burial will follow at Milltown Rural Cemetery, Brewster, NY. Friends may call at the Green Funeral Home, 57 Main St., Danbury, on Thursday from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m.
