

Jack, the son of Frank A. and Mary C. (McGovern) Hunt, was born March 11, 1935 in Port Chester, N.Y. He graduated from Archbishop Stepinac High School in White Plains, N.Y. After receiving a degree in Electrical Engineering from Manhattan College in Riverdale, N.Y., he was employed by LFE/Automatic Signal in Norwalk and Hamden, Conn., for several decades and later worked for Computran Systems Engineering in Hackensack, N.J. and Phoenix, Ariz.
Jack’s beloved wife, Winnie, predeceased him after 49 years of marriage. He is survived by three daughters, Carolyn Hunt Mueller of Danbury; Eileen Hunt DuBois of Fairfield; and Jeannine and her husband, Andrew Dickholtz, of Lexington, Mass. He is also survived by his cherished granddaughter, Fiona Leigh Dickholtz. Predeceased by his parents and brother, Ed, Jack is also survived by several cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
Jack was an avid follower of national politics, sports and scientific developments, and enjoyed a good debate, often playing devil’s advocate just for fun. He resided in Danbury for over 50 years and was a member of St. Peter Church. In his later years he attended Mass at St. Joseph Church. The family thanks the staff at Filosa for Nursing and Rehabilitation for their excellent care of Jack in recent months and also thanks to Regional Hospice of Western Connecticut for their support of Jack and the family in his last days.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, January 31, 2020 at 1 p.m. at St. Peter Church, Danbury. Burial will follow in St. Peter Cemetery. Friends will be received on Thursday, January 30 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Green Funeral Home, 57 Main St., Danbury, CT.
