He was born to the late Marcello and Viola Oliva, on October 3, 1949, in Mount Vernon NY. John graduated from Roslyn High School in New York. He was married to Margo Oliva and lived together in New Fairfield Ct.
John was a Tool and Dye Maker creating all hand-made designs for Carva Company, he was also a courier for FedEx. He was a member of the Jaycees and was a current member of the Candlewood Valley Corvette Club. He loved his family, playing with his grandkids, making people laugh, going camping, driving around his dream car which was his corvette and just enjoying life. He lived his life with no regrets. He was and always will be an amazing husband, father and friend.
He was survived by his wife Margo Oliva New Fairfield, his son Michael Oliva New Fairfield, his daughter Valerie Main and Son-in-Law Steven Main of Terryville, his grandchildren Marcello Oliva, Alyssa Oliva, Liam Main, and Autumn Main, his sisters Patricia Taranto, and Bonnie Rabinowitz, Brother in Law Neal Rabinowitz, his several nephews and a niece, along with his great aunts, and many cousins.
The viewing will be held from 4pm to 8pm on Friday June 20th 2014 at Green Funeral Home 57 Main Street in Danbury Ct.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10am on Saturday June 21st 2014 at St. Edward the Confessor Church, 21 Brush Hill Road, New Fairfield CT.
