John Patrick Powell, age 65, loving husband of Lee, devoted father of Terry and Tracy, and big brother of Ann, passed away on Monday, January 31, 2022. John enjoyed playing hockey, gardening, running, martial arts, and golf. He traveled with his family to 49 states and being an avid history buff, sought out forts, battlefields, and national parks. John also had a love for learning. Most recently, he was dusting off his high school Spanish to converse with his team at work.
Having an MBA in Accounting and Finance and being a Certified Management Accountant, John worked at IBM for over 43 years in various roles in his area of expertise.
His wake will be held at Green Funeral Home, Danbury, CT, on Sunday, February 6, from 1-4 PM. Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 7, at 10:30 AM, at St. Edward the Confessor Catholic Church, New Fairfield, CT. Burial will follow at St. Peter Cemetery, Danbury, CT.
