Johnnie Leon Shaw

Johnnie L. Shaw, 59, of Ridge Court West, West Haven, CT died unexpectedly on Thursday at the Hospital of St. Raphael in New Haven. Born in Andrews, SC on Nov. 12, 1951, he was the son of Mary Ford Holston of Danbury and the late John Shaw. He was a 1969 graduate of Rosemary High School in Andrews, SC. Johnnie joined the US Air Force in 1971 and was stationed at Chanute Air Force Base. He specialized in aircraft equipment maintenance. Johnnie was an electrical technician with various Connecticut firms including Wentworth Laboratories in Brookfield. He was also a nurse’s aide at Mediplex in Danbury.

Besides his mother, survivors include one daughter: Melissa Louise Shaw of New Milford. His stepfather: Clarence Holston of Danbury. Two sisters: Jacqueline Haygood of Norwalk and Claire Holston of Milford, NH. Two aunts: Edna McMillan of Jersey City, NJ and Annie Coleman of Bronx, NY. Several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews also survive as well as many cousins.

Funeral Services will be conducted Wednesday, Nov. 16 at 6pm at the Green Funeral Home, 57 Main St., Danbury with the Rev. Karen Karpow, Pastor of the United Methodist Church of Danbury, officiating. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5pm until the time of the service.
