

Joyce was the youngest of three children born to Sanford and Almedia Vosburg. She was raised on a dairy farm where she was tasked with helping her Dad with the outside chores including the arduous task of haying and tending to the horses. The remainder of her day was spent in a one-room, then two-room schoolhouses up to high school.
As a young adult, Joyce found work in Connecticut after following her sister’s lead and settled in Stamford at the age of 19. She worked in a psychiatric hospital from 1953-1965. She then worked for Pitney Bowes Corporation in both Norwalk and Danbury for the next 25 years.
Joyce took great pleasure in corresponding with her friends and family. She enjoyed reading, crafts, getting together with friends to eat, and watching TV. She enjoyed sharing stories from her childhood.
Besides her parents, Joyce was predeceased by her brother and sister-in-law Norman and Arlene Vosburg of Swanton, VT.
Joyce is survived by her sister Pauline (Neil) Mazza of Washington, NC; her nieces and nephew: Norma (James) Manley of New Bern, NC; Patricia (Lee) Spaulding of St Albans, VT and Mark (Cecile) Vosburg of Swanton, VT. Also, she is survived by great-nieces and nephews; Matthew (Liane) Spaulding of Georgia, VT; Benjamin Spaulding of San Diego, CA; Sara Vosburg of Pittsburgh, PA and Emily Vosburg of Auburn, Washington. She is also survived by her lifelong, dear friend Lawson Dugan of Montreal, Quebec.
Per Joyce’s wishes, she will be cremated and her remains will be returned home to Vermont.
