Justine Mary Erickson (Weiss), known affectionately as Ivy to her friends and family, passed away peacefully on February 3rd 2024 at the age of 76. She was the loving wife of Frederick (Rudy) Erickson for 57 years. She is survived by her three sons Bill (Lorie), Fred (Katie) and Mike (Melissa), her sister-in-law Lois Weiss (Heckler) as well as two grandchildren; Joshua and Haley, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother, William Weiss.
Born on August 2, 1947 in Danbury, CT she was the daughter of the late William and Mary Weiss (Arnone). Ivy grew up in Danbury and graduated from Danbury High School in 1965. After graduating high school, Ivy worked various jobs, most notably at Grolier Inc. and The Medicine Shoppe. Ivy moved to Moreau, NY in 2003 and to Chicopee, MA in 2018, always meeting lifelong friends along the way.
Known for her outgoing personality and sense of humor, Ivy lit up the room with her charm and charisma. A huge fan of music, especially classic Motown, Ivy loved to dance and enjoyed the simple pleasures of life. She had a way of turning a simple evening consisting of a glass of wine and a game of cards into something special. Her most cherished time was spent with family and she will be missed greatly by anyone who got to know her.
The family will receive family and friends from 5 pm to 8 pm on Friday, February 9th 2024 at Green Funeral Home, 57 Main Street, Danbury, Connecticut. A funeral mass will take place at 10 am on Saturday, February 10th 2024 at St. Joseph Church, 370 Main Street, Danbury, Connecticut. Burial will follow in the family plot at St. Peter’s Cemetery, Lake Avenue Extension, Danbury, Connecticut. There will be a reception to follow.
