

Katherine D. Jugler a lifetime resident of Danbury, went home to God's loving embrace on April 9, 2012 at the Bethel Health Care Center. Katherine was born January 14,1922 in Danbury, Ct, the daughter of the late Daniel J. and Katherine Keane Devine. She is survived by her children, Maureen [Paul] Matthews of Simsbury, Brian [Cindy] Jugler, Brendan [Joyce] Jugler, Patricia [Joseph] Durkin and Nancy [James] Miller of Danbury and Sean [Ellen] Jugler of New Milford, 15 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren, all of whom brought joy and sparkle to her Irish eyes. Also surviving are two sisters in law, Edna Devine of Sunrise, FL and Ann Devine of Bethlehem, CT. She was predeceased by her husband Francis J.Jugler, her 2 brothers John and Daniel Devine and her sister, Sister Marita Daniel R.S.M.
Katherine attended Danbury Schools and was a graduate of the class of 1942 of the Danbury Hospital School of Nursing and further obtained a B.A. and M.S. from Western Connecticut State University. Katherine worked for the Danbury Registry in Private Duty, then the Danbury Board of Education as a school nurse. After obtaining her teaching degree she taught kindergarten and first grade at Hayestown Avenue School until her retirement. She was a member of the Danbury Hospital Alumni Association, the Ladies Auxilliary of the Hibernians, and a communicant of Saint Joseph Church in Brookfield , CT.
Katherine was a bright, funny, kind and loving woman who graced our family. There is an amazing party in her honor rocking the heavens, but they are only playing Irish music! The family would like to thank the staff and volunteers of the Cascades, Bethel Health Care, and Regional Hospice for their devoted care and unconditional love, support and respect.
Calling hours are Thursday from 4 - 8 PM at the Green Funeral Home, Main Street, Danbury and Funeral Mass at 10 AM Friday, St. Joseph Church, Brookfield, CT.
