She is also survived by her parents Rob and Maryellen Heller as well as her sister Kerry from NYC and her brother Rob and his wife Alison and niece Penny. She is also survived by her Grandparents Michael and Ellen Romano. On Nick’s side of the family, she is survived by Nick’s mother Cheryl and her husband Mike, Nick’s father Dave and his wife Jan, Nick's brother Adam and his wife Victoria.
Kathleen graduated from Providence College. She worked for ZAGAT and HSS in New York City. She moved to Colorado five years ago to take a job at the University of Colorado. Colorado is where she met Nick. They moved to Landsthul three years ago.
Kathleen was currently working at the American School Landstuhl working on her Masters Degree to become a middle school Math teacher. Kathleen also was a yoga instructor. She trained in Bali. Her classes were unique and personalized to the people taking them.
Kathleen loved to run. Her list of achievements is amazing. She ran the NYC Marathon several times as a member of the NYAC, the half marathon in Brooklyn, the half marathon in Denver and the half marathon in Dublin. She medaled in several of these. She was scheduled to run the half marathon in Lucern, Switzerland in a few weeks.
In the last three years Kathleen traveled more places than most people travel in a lifetime.
Kathleen had a light inside her that just glowed. She laughed easily and loved much. Kathleen saw the very best in people and brought it out in them too. Kathleen and Nick loved family and couldn’t wait to live near them again after being overseas. Kathleen loved cooking amazing dishes in her kitchen. She was the only one who could make her Dad’s carrot cake! She touched people world wide and left her footprints on all our hearts.
Kathleen will be buried in St. Francis of Assisi Cemetery Mt. Kisco NY. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for a donation to www.braintrauma.org.
