Kim was an inspiration to all who knew her. She met the extraordinary challenges of two heart transplants and their many complications with grace, humor, and an incredible determination to beat the tremendous odds against her. Until Friday, Kim prevailed over countless life-threatening illnesses. Remarkably, throughout her 11 year fight, she was always more concerned with the well being of others, particularly her beloved daughters and husband, than herself. Kim will also be remembered as a loving daughter, sister, and friend.
Kimberly was born in Danbury September 6, 1968, the daughter of Jane F. (Clarkson) Keane of Danbury and the late Peter R. Keane. A lifelong resident, she was a graduate of Henry Abbott Technical School where she studied hairdressing, and was active in several sports. Most recently, Kimberly was employed with the Academy of Dance Arts, Brookfield for the past seven years where she was an active stage mom, assisting with costumes and recitals.
In addition to her husband Steven and mother Jane, Kimberly is survived by her two daughters: Ashley M. Lane and Emily E. Lane, both of Danbury, two step daughters: Kiri Lake of Danbury and Brandi Lane of New Milford, two sisters: Kelly Potenziani and Kristin Allen, both of Danbury, two grandchildren: Samantha Lake and Christopher Lake, several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews, as well as a great niece on the way and several close friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30am on Tuesday July 19th at St. Mary Church, Bethel. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery, Bethel. The family will receive friends at the Green Funeral Home 57 Main Street Danbury on Monday July 18th from 4 thru 7pm.
Memorial contributions in lieu of flowers are requested to be made to the American Heart Association, 5 Brookside Drive, P.O. Box 5022, Wallingford, CT 06492
