
She was born April 10, 1922 in Danbury to the late Joseph N. Lombardi and Elizabeth Sabo Lombardi Repole. Laura attended St. Peter School and was a graduate from Danbury High School Class of 1939.
From 1940-1945, Laura worked at Remington Arms in Bridgeport, CT contributing to the WWII effort. In 1946, she joined SNET as a telephone operator and eventually was a supervisor until her retirement after 37 years in 1983.
Laura was a loving aunt and great-aunt who shared her memories with her family.
Besides her parents, Laura was predeceased by her siblings, Barbara Guardino and N. Joseph Lombardi.
She is survived by her loving and devoted nieces: Barbara J. Lombardi of Danbury; and Susan J. Clarkson and her husband, Norman “Buddy” Clarkson, Jr.,of Bethel. Several great-nieces and nephews also survive.
Barbara and Susan gave her a surprise day at Yankee Stadium for her 90th birthday and they even made the Jumbotron! They also gave her a surprise party for her 95th birthday with all her family gathered at her niece’s home.
Laura was an avid golfer and Yankee baseball fan. She is remembered for her calm demeanor and wonderful sense of humor.
There are no calling hours.
Burial will be private in St. Peter Cemetery, Danbury.
