Leonora A. Cerullo, 88, of New Milford, CT, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, October 26, 2014 at Bethel Health Care Center, Bethel, CT after a brief illness. She was the wife of the late Carman J. Cerullo. Leonora was born in Pelham Bay, Bronx, NY, daughter of the late Gaspare and Martha Bica Scandariato. She was a 1943 graduate of Washington Irving High School and a former administrative assistant with the Office of the Registrar at New York University.
Leonora was a New Milford resident since 1983. A gracious host who loved to entertain, she never forgot to acknowledge all of the details, especially everyone’s birthdays and holidays. She dedicated her life to her family, most especially her grandchildren and great grandson. Active in the Amerigo Vespucci Lodge Lodge #160 in Danbury, Leonora was also a volunteer with the American Cancer Society and avid New York Giants fan.
Besides her husband, who passed away in 2005, and parents, Leonora was predeceased by a brother, Michael A. Scandariato and her sister-in-law, Maria Scandariato. Survivors include her sons: John J.Cerullo, Sr. and his wife, Julia, of New Fairfield; Gaspare J. Cerullo and his wife, Francesca, of Cortlandt Manor, NY and Michael J. Cerullo and his wife, Sally Anne Roberts, of Cheshire, CT. Her grandchildren: John, Jr., Francesca L., Richard, Matthew, Cristina, Michelle, Montana, Alexandra and Danielle. Her great-grandson: John, III. Her brothers: Jerome P. Scandariato of Palm Coast, FL and Joseph M. Scandariato of Trenton, NJ.
