

Born in Danbury, CT, Lucille relocated to the Hartford area upon her 1952 graduation from Danbury High School. She attended Hillyer College in Hartford. Lucille attained the designation of CPS (Certified Professional Secretary) and won recognition as the 1968
Hartford Chapter Connecticut State Secretary of the Year by the National Secretaries Association.
Lucille’s career spanned positions in the legal, real estate, office management and corporate administration fields. She maintained her real estate broker license and had been in apartment and mall management. She retired from Heublein, where she had been an Assistant Corporate Secretary and Human Resources Manager.
Lucille remained proud of her Portuguese heritage and visited Fayal, in the Azores, homeland of her mother, and mainland Portugal, homeland of her father, over the years. She loved listening to Portuguese fado music.
Lucille had many great friendships in the various places she lived or traveled to over the years. Her extensive travels included a solo trip around the world in 1967, cruises on the Queen Elizabeth 2 and Queen Mary 2 with Domenic, and her nephews and their families. Lucille and Dom shared a love of dancing, enjoying their home, European traveling and memorable winters spent in Florida.
Besides her late husband, Domenic, Lucille was predeceased by her parents, Ramiro and Agnes Marques; her brother, Manuel P. Faria II, who was her surrogate father after the death of her own father while she was in her teens; and her stepchildren: Thomas and Debra Gioello.
She is survived by her nephews: the Rev. Manuel P. Faria III (Lou Ann) and daughters: Mary and Susie of Beverly, MA; and David M. Faria (Anita) of Danbury, CT. She is also survived by her stepchildren: Donna Gioello (Peter) of Yonkers, NY; and Patric Sjolund (Marie) of Sweden; several cousins, particularly Manuela and Manny Goncalves; classmates Lorraine Lewis Battles and Audrienne George Buzaid; and other friends including Josie Eaton and John and Didi Deans.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00am on Saturday, August 1, 2026, at St. Peter Church, 104 Main St., Danbury. Interment in St. Peter Cemetery, Danbury will be at the convenience of the family.
