Manuel Teixeira

Manuel “Manny” R. Teixeira, 48, of Danbury, CT passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2012. He was the loving husband of Sandi (DoVale) Teixeira and devoted father to his four children: Manny, Krystle, Brittany and Brianna. Manny was born in Cubo, Portugal on Dec. 29, 1963, a son of Adelino Teixeira of Danbury and the late Ana Rodrigues Teixeira. He immigrated to the United States in 1975. A 1982 graduate of Danbury High School, Manny was an employee with the Barden Corp. in Danbury for 30 years. He was also a 20 year employee with Stew Leonard’s in Danbury where he was a Team Leader. Manny enjoyed spending time with his family and getaways with his wife to Foxwoods. He believed in making every minute count, was youthful and had a great sense of humor. Manny was an avid storyteller and enjoyed the company of his family and friends. He often spent time on Candlewood Lake boating with his son.

Besides his wife, children and father, survivors include his mother-in-law, Mary DoVale. 4 brothers: Carlos Teixeira and his wife, Guida. Joe Teixeira and his wife, Paula. Adriano Teixeira. Paulo Teixeira and his wife, Kristina. 5 sisters: Rosa Teixeira and her husband, Alvarindo. Teresa Ramos and her husband, Fausto. Maria Leblanc and her husband, Kenneth. Ana Perdigoto and her husband, Tony. M. Ceu Bahia and her husband, Carlos. His sister-in laws: Lynn Lucsky and her husband, Jim. Dawn Tavares and her husband, Rich. His brother-in-laws: Robert DoVale and Lee DoVale and his wife, Laurie.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday at 9:30am at St Peter Church, Danbury, with the Rev. Gregg Mecca, Pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in St. Peter Cemetery. Friends will be received on Friday from 4pm to 8pm at the Green Funeral Home, 57 Main St., Danbury.
