Marge was the second of three daughters born to Patrick McCormack and Margaret Clancy. She was born in Yonkers, NY on January 3, 1939 where she spent most of her young adulthood.
Marge graduated from Commerce High School in Yonkers, NY and then went to work at NY Telephone Company in New York City and then White Plains. Following her marriage to Robert Jano, they started a family and moved to New Fairfield, CT in 1972 to raise their four children. Marge ran the household and worked at Consolidated School as a para-professional for 25 years.
Throughout the 46 years she lived in New Fairfield, Marge became an honorary member of the Company A Firehouse and was member of St. Edward the Confessor Church, where she taught religious education classes for many years.
Marge and Bob enjoyed annual trips to Kennebunk, ME and Stuart, FL. She loved to explore New England and cherished her visits to both Ireland and Italy. Her hobbies included reading, crocheting, puzzles, Scrabble and card games.
Marge liked to spend her time with friends at the Goode Shoppe. She could be found there most afternoons with the 3:00pm “Coffee Club”. This group was like a family to her.
She is survived by her loving husband Bob of 55 years, her daughter Susan in Alton, Illinois; her son Bobby and his wife Laurie in Simsbury, CT and her daughter Lynn in Austin, TX. She is survived by four grandchildren in Simsbury, CT; Ryan, Riley, Rebecca, and Rachel. In addition, she is survived her sisters, Marion and Chuck Eiden of Yonkers, NY, and Gail and John Olsen of Jarrettsville, MD. She is pre-deceased by her daughter Kathryn Krug.
