Maria Consiglia DeMasi of Danbury, CT, wife of the late Cosimo DeMasi passed away on Monday, September 29, 2025, at the age of 83. Our beautiful Maria was born in Italy and then moved to the United States where she worked as a machinist for a pharmaceutical company and was a mother to five children.
Nonna loved to cook! She enjoyed food more than anyone we know. She made the best eggplant parmigiana in the world and always made her own bread, which she would share with whoever happened to visit that week. She loved to travel. Mostly though, Nonna loved her family and before she became ill would make her rounds of phone calls to her children, siblings and nieces/nephews every single day.
She is survived by her daughters Adriana Ciccia, Maria DeMasi (Francesco), Bianca DeMasi (Robert), Gina (Brian) Adam, and son Salvatore; grandchildren David, Maria (Kevin), Melanie, Alessandra (Cosimo), Giulia, Sabrina (Brian), Anthony “Gigi” Cosimo (Tia). Maria “Nonna” is also survived by her nine great grandchildren: Giuliana, Giselle, Luca, Annabella, Ariana, Briella, David, Alessia, and Cayden.
The family would like to thank the Regional Hospice Center for their compassionate care towards our Maria during her final days.
The family will receive visitors at Green Funeral Home at 57 Main St., Danbury, CT on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, from 4 to 7 p.m. A funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, October 8th at 10am at St. Joseph Church, 8 Robinson Ave. (at Main St.) Danbury, with interment to follow at St. Peter Cemetery, 71 Lake Ave. Ext., Danbury.
In lieu of flowers please consider making a donation to Regional Hospice of Danbury, CT in Maria’s memory.
