Maria Lourdes Gomes

Lourdes was born on February 18, 1934 in Ovar, Portugal. She was hardworking and dedicated. She spent most of her life working as a farmer in Quintas de Baixo, Portugal. Lourdes enjoyed dancing, talking about the history of Portugal, gardening and, in the last year, coloring many photos displayed at Apple Rehab in Watertown. Despite her many responsibilities, she always made time for her family and her passions.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Antonio dos Santos Delgado.

Survivors include her sons: Eduardo Samuel Delgado and his wife, Elsa; and Joao Delgado; her beloved grandson, Daniel Delgado and his wife, Danielle; as well as her great-grandson, Luca, who was the apple of her eyes. Her comadre, Alcina Lameiras, as well as many friends and extended family members who will miss her dearly, also survive.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00am on Tuesday, July 15, 2025 at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 149 Deer Hill Ave., Danbury, CT. Burial will follow in St. Peter Cemetery, Danbury, CT.

Friends will be received from 9:30am - 10:30am on Tuesday, July 15, 2025 at the Green Funeral Home, 57 Main St., Danbury, CT.

We will find comfort in knowing that mom's legacy lives through the lessons she taught us, the love she shared and the memories we will cherish forever.
