Marie was born in Acquedolci (Sicily), Italy to Antonio Borgia and Benedetta Miraglia. She attended The School of Art & Design where she studied fashion design in Manhattan. Marie worked for many years as an administrative assistant for Jacobi Medical Center in the Bronx. She later retired after working for over 15 years from the New Fairfield Board of Education.
Marie lived in New Fairfield with her beloved daughter/best friend Theresa. Marie was not only lucky enough to see both of her grandchildren get married, she was also able to create a decade of memories with her four greatgrandchildren. It was obvious she cherished every moment with her family!
Marie was selfless, always willing to help others in times of need. She was an amazing artist and cook who shared her creations with everyone she met. Nothing made her happier than sharing a meal or a tray of cookies with family and strangers alike. Marie was full of life and spunk and had a passion for dancing. To most, Marie was known as “Nanny”.
Marie was preceded by both of her parents and her seven siblings. Marie is survived by her daughter Theresa Perri and her son in law Vincent Perri. Her granddaughter Christine Gera, her husband David Gera and their children Joseph and Stella Gera; her grandson Michael Perri, his wife Elizabeth Shea Perri and their children Nicolas and Lorenzo Perri. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Funeral and memorial services to be held at a later date.
