On Sunday, December 8th 2019 Marilyn O. Galanti took God’s hand and went home. A devoted wife, mother, oma, and friend, nothing meant more to her than her family and friends. She will be greatly missed by her grieving husband of 48 years Joseph and her loving daughters Larissa Galanti and her husband Timothy Gilman of Concord, CA and Elizabeth Bronner and her husband James Bronner of Spofford, NH. She took pride in and tremendously loved her grandchildren Isabella and Rowan Gilman. She is also survived by her sister Harriett St. Amant of Baton Rouge, LA, many cousins, nieces, grandnieces, grandnephews, and great aunt.
A lifelong Methodist, born to Rev. Dr. Paul N. Otto and Marjorie (Marsh) Otto in Brooklyn, NY. She strongly believed in our need and obligation to love all of our neighbors and fellow citizens of the world. She knew that we are all caretakers of the world which is one of our many gifts from God. She fashioned herself an amateur photographer (at least her family joked she did) and loved to travel the world and capture its art, history, and beauty in her photos everywhere she went. She was a regular visitor and contributor to the Metropolitan Opera and was a fan of all genres of music from Opera to Queen. She loved visiting and giving to the National Parks Association, World Wildlife Federation, Bronx Zoo, and many more.
Her warmth, humor, honesty, and love will be sorely missed.
