

Born Mary Ellen Ginty in Danbury, Ct.. May 16, 1926, a daughter of Bernard F. and Mary (Maher) Ginty. She attended Danbury schools and graduated from Danbury High School class of 1944.
Mae worked for Southern New England Telephone Company for 30 years prior to moving to Florida in 1978. She retired from Southern Bell in 1982.
She was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America and the Communications Workers of America. She enjoyed playing cards with her friends in Florida and was an avid Bingo player.
She is survived by a daughter, Barbara of Brookfield, a son, Paul of Danbury, her sister, Veronica Staib of Bethel and several neices and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Charles J. Murphy, her brothers, Thomas F. Ginty and Edmund Ginty.
The family extends its sincere gratitude to the staff at Bethel Health Care for their kindness and compassion during Mae’s stay there.
A mass of Christian burial will be held Wednesday, April 24, 2014 at St. Marguerite Bourgeoys Church, 138 Candlewood Lake Rd. Brookfield, Ct. at 10:30 am. Burial will follow at St. Peter’s Cemetery, Danbury, Ct.
Friends may call at Green Funeral Home Wednesday, April 24, 2014 from 9-10am.
