OBITUARY

Mary Kate Salvador

May 13, 1968June 21, 2019

Mary Kate Salvador, 51, went home to Jesus on June 21, 2019 after a long courageous battle with cancer. Born May 13th, 1968, the third youngest of ten children, she was predeceased by her parents, Gerry and Sharon Salvador.

Mary Kate attended Danbury schools, including St. Gregory the Great school, and graduated from Danbury High School in 1986. She was most recently employed at Herbert J. Simms in Fairfield, Connecticut. Mary Kate was a devoted Catholic who lived her faith daily spreading Christ’s joy and love to all who knew her. Her independent, take action personality coupled with her humor and compassionate nature helped her as she confronted her illness with grace and courage for more than eleven years. She was a gift from God to this world, and heaven is lucky to have her back now.

Mary will be sadly missed by her siblings, Amy Salvador, Barbara Reagan (Frank), Tom (Beth), Linda, Jane Tacca (Al), Arlene, Ann, Bill, and Matthew. Her nieces and nephews, Becky (James), Frank, Kelly (Andrew), Andrew, Rob (Megan), Sharon, Jenni, Julee (Manny), Christopher, Jeremy, Rachel, Brian, Grace, and Kate. She will also be missed by her loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and her close friend from childhood, Melissa Frisch.

The family would like to thank the wonderful caretakers and staff of Regional Hospice of Danbury for their care of Mary during her final months of life, as well as Carol Greaves, Dr. Cooper and all of the medical staff at Danbury Hospital.

A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St. Gregory The Great Roman Catholic Church, 85 Great Plain Rd, Danbury, CT at 10AM on Saturday, June 29, 2019. A private burial will take place at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in her honor to Regional Hospice and Palliative Care of Danbury or your favorite charity.

I worked with Mary at HJ Sims for a number of years. I was always impressed at how professional and nice she was to everyone around her, even when her job was sometimes challenging. Visiting with her was always an experience I would look forward to and I will miss her very much.

I worked with Mary at HJ Sims for many years and thought the world of her. She was one of the kindest souls that I’ve ever known and was ALWAYS so helpful to me. I’m sure Mary is looking down from heaven with a smile on her face since she left the world a better place. We will miss you dearly Mary. God bless.

Mary was a lovely and talented co-worker and friend. She had been a member of the Purchasing Department for Lorad Medical Systems where I and her other co-workers remember her with fondness for her keen intelligence and great sense of humor. She will live in our hearts and minds as the lovely person she always was to those of us who called her our friend.

With condolences to her family,

Carol Dickens
