Michael Dennis Cooper

Michael was born in Stamford, CT on September 25,1953 to Alexandra (Uzwiak) and Eugene Joseph Cooper Sr. He graduated from Henry Abbott Technical High School, worked at Kanthal for over 15 years; he was then self-employed until he retired.

A dedicated father, grandfather and brother, Michael enjoyed hosting large family gatherings, and capturing the moment in photographs. Indulging in food and treats with a love of high-end chocolate and Starbucks - all that he knew he shouldn’t have – was another favorite pastime.

With a phenomenal sense of humor and fun, Michael enjoyed live comedy shows. visiting Universal Studios and weekend trips. A sports enthusiast as well, he was a lifelong supporter of the Raiders. He was a collector of many things and enjoyed building things with his own hands. He loved fishing and spending time with his grandchildren, making new memories and upholding family traditions.

Michael is preceded in death by his parents, Eugene and Alexandra, his wife Elizabeth, his sisters Alice Jean Cooper Doriocourt, Barbara J. Cooper Schonert and his brothers Dr. Eugene J. Cooper Jr. and Gary J. Cooper.

Michael is survived by his children, Victoria Valiente (Wilmer), Barbara Cooper, James Garron (Sonia), Patricia Garron, his siblings Timothy J. Cooper (Margaret), Donna Marie Cooper O'Boyle (David), David E. Cooper (Karen), grandchildren Ashley Nicole Cooper, Vanessa Cooper- McNamare, Anthony Cooper, Jonathan Santana, Alyssa Cooper, Cameron Cooper, James Garron lll, Elizabeth Garron, Michael Pinet, Carissa McGue, Kaylee Garcia, Estel Cintron, Michelle Broadhurst. Many great-grandchildren and additional family members will remember him fondly.

The family will receive guests on Friday, January 30 from 11AM – 1PM at Green Funeral Home, 57 Main Street, Danbury. Prayers led by the Rev. Shawn Jordan will close the service. Burial of Michael’s ashes will be immediately following the service at St. Peter Cemetery at the Mausoleum, 71 Lake Ave. Ext., Danbury.

In lieu of flowers, private donations toward funeral expenses may be arranged directly through the family.
