Milagros Altagracia Hernandez, 63, passed away peacefully on March 18, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family. A woman of extraordinary strength and devotion, Milagros was not only a loving mother but a guiding father figure to her children, raising them with unwavering dedication, resilience, and unconditional love.
Born in Los Almacigos in Santiago, Dominican Republic, Milagros grew up alongside her siblings, forming deep family bonds that she carried with her throughout her life. From a young age, she possessed a warm and strong sense of responsibility that would later define the way she cared for her own family.
In her youth, Milagros fell in love with Reynaldo Antonio Ferreira, with whom she shared her three beloved children. Together, they built the foundation of the family that meant everything to her.
Milagros later shared her life with Hector Tejada, who was her partner and companion, standing by her side through life’s many chapters.
She is survived by her three children; her eldest daughter, Solange M. Dominguez, 43, and her loving husband Alfredo Dominguez, along with their cherished daughter, Siomara A. Dominguez, were a constant source of pride and joy; her son, Yari A. Ferreira, 39, a devoted partner to Cristly Soto, and proud father of four children; Destiny L. Ferreira, Ethan A. Ferreira, Devyn L. Ferreira, and Kylie M. Ferreira, all of whom brought immense happiness to Milagros’s life; her youngest daughter, Katherine A. Garcia, 37, and her supportive husband Dawrry Garcia, along with her two children, Anthony Jacob Garcia and Alaya J. Garcia, shared a special and unbreakable bond with her.
Milagros’s greatest accomplishment was her family. She sacrificed endlessly, loved deeply, and gave selfishlessly to ensure her children and grandchildren were cared for and supported. Her strength, kindness, and enduring love will remain a guiding light in their lives.
She will be deeply missed by her children, grandchildren, siblings, extended family, and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Though she is no longer with us, Milagros’s love lives on in the hearts of her children, grandchildren, and all who knew her.
To celebrate Milagros' life, friends will be received from 4:00pm - 8:00pm on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, at the Green Funeral Home, 57 Main St., Danbury, CT.
