Nada was born with retinitis pigmentosa and attended Batavia School For The Blind. At 11 years old she was diagnosed with juvenile diabetes. When her family moved to Connecticut, she attended Oak Hill School For The Blind in Hartford CT.
Nada and Ed Lasky met in the ninth grade. After Nada graduated, her family moved to Florida. Nada completed training as a medical transcriptionist and worked at Sarasota Memorial Hospital. Ed kept in touch via telephone. He remembers putting in $10 worth of quarters per call! Ed and Nada were married on February 27, 1965 in Florida although the marriage certificate states 1905!
Shortly thereafter they moved to Danbury CT where Ed worked as a dark room technician and Nada worked as a medical transcriptionist at Danbury Hospital for 25 years.
In 1966, Julie Ann was born into their family. Nada loved singing in the church choir, reading, TV game shows, playing cards with her sisters, all of their pets and the Red Sox baseball team.
To everyone who knew Nada she was a kind, loving, generous person with a gentle sense of humor, who helped those in need. She will be truly missed.
Nada passed away peacefully on February 2, 2023 at Danbury Hospital. She is survived by her husband Ed, daughter Julie and sisters Elaine, Marvel, Phyllis and Dian.
