Nancy was born in Danbury, CT on December 5, 1941, daughter of Nicholas J. Azzarito and Dorothy Azzarito (Tomanio). She attended St. Peter's Catholic School and Danbury High School and was a long-time member of St. Peter's Church in Danbury.
She worked at Woolworth's in Danbury for several years before embarking on a long 35+ year career in the manufacturing field as an electronics assembler and quality control auditor for Benruss Corp. in Ridgefield and Technipower Inc. in Danbury, and then for Imperial Electronics, before retiring in 2001. It was while working at Benruss that she met her future husband Evaristo (d. 2016) in 1967. They were married on June 28, 1969, and remained happily together for 47 years, residing in Danbury. She moved to Southbury in 2017 and spent the final year of her life residing at Lutheran Home of Southbury where she made countless friends and was adored by the entire staff.
Nancy enjoyed various hobbies, including cooking, coloring, sewing and putting puzzles together, but her true joy in life was spending time with her family and friends. Family get-togethers were always her favorite events. She especially loved children and was an ardent animal lover. She was always willing to give anything she could to help anyone in need, regardless of circumstances, and was a source of shining light and inspiration to all who knew her. She will be sorely missed but never forgotten by those who loved her.
Nancy is survived by her sons, Ricardo Rivera of Southbury, and Ralph Azzarito (Valerie) of New Fairfield, her 3 grandchildren, Kimberly Costa (Michael) of Southbury, Christopher Azzarito of Blandon, PA and Michael Azzarito of New Fairfield, as well as her 3 great-grand-daughters Kaylie, McKenzie and McKayla. She is also survived by her extended family in Puerto Rico.
