Naomi A. Sanna, 86, of Venice, FL, peacefully passed away at home, surrounded by her family on November 16, 2023. She was born on November 7, 1937 to her loving parents, Alice (Gardner) and Maurice Repoley.
Naomi was an exceptional daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, and aunt, whose love and devotion touched the hearts of all who knew her. She is survived by her beloved husband of 61 years, Julius Sanna, DC; her children and their spouses, Mark Sanna, DC and Ronald Rosen, Susan and Andrew DeRiso, and Jennifer and Christopher Graham; her cherished grandchildren Jackson and Henry Graham, Abbie and her husband John Paul Sakakini, and Adam DeRiso and his fiancée Madison Smith.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Alice and Maurice Repoley; her sisters Marilyn Miele and Shirley Ann Hancock; and her niece Donna Mutino.
Naomi and Julius raised their family in Brookfield, CT where Naomi was an active and integral part of the community. She volunteered as an assistant librarian and assistant to the principal at St. Joseph's Church and School for over 35 years. Working with the students always brought her much joy. Her beautiful voice graced many celebratory masses and musical performances. Naomi and Julius were Centennial members of the Ridgewood Country Club in Danbury, CT and their time there was filled with cherished memories. Naomi had a special bond with many clergy, including Rev. Russell Augustine, Sister Celestine Charbonneau, Sister Louisette Marceau and Sister Claire.
For the past 20 years, Naomi and Julius called the community of Pelican Pointe in Venice, FL their home. Her dear friends there brought immense joy and comfort to her life. Their support during her final days was deeply appreciated by Naomi and her family.
Naomi was a truly remarkable woman whose legacy will forever live on in the hearts of her loving family. Her selflessness, support, forgiveness, and boundless love have left an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing her. She leaves behind an unfillable gap, but her spirit and love will continue to guide and inspire us all.
A funeral mass will be held on Friday, December 1, 2023, at 10:00 am at St. Joseph's Church, 1 Obtuse Hill Rd, Brookfield, CT followed by her interment at St. Peter's Cemetery, 71 Lake Ave Ext, Danbury, CT.
All are invited to join for a luncheon in honor of Naomi's life at the Candlewood Lake Club, 919 Candlewood Lake Rd S, New Milford, CT at 12:00 pm. A memorial celebration of her life will also take place on Friday, December 29, 2023, at 12:00 pm at the Pelican Pointe Golf and Country Club Clubhouse, 499 Derbyshire Dr, Venice, FL.
Naomi possessed a remarkable connection with all of God's creatures, particularly those with fur and feathers.
